Adrian is Singapore’s most active recitalist. He is the Artistic Director of The Sing Song Club, and together with Shane Thio, has premiered hundreds of art songs locally, garnering many positive reviews. Notable local premieres include a semi-staged performance of Peter Maxwell-Davies’ seminal cycle 8 Songs for a Mad King and the much-neglected cantata La Mort du Nombre by French composer Olivier Messiaen. He has also given the world premiere of Zechariah Goh Toh Chai’s 2 Hainanese Songs, written especially for Adrian, and Robert Casteel’s Pontianak!.

His innovative and exciting programming has also been much lauded. A great supporter of local works, Adrian has commissioned and performed the world premiere of works composed by Dr. Zechariah Goh, Dr. Kelly Tang (Cultural Medallion Recipient), Liong Kit Yeng, Hoh Chung Shih, Juliette Lai and Benjamin Lim.

Adrian also worked with the Singapore Lyric Opera in various capacities. He was the Music Director of the company’s sold-out productions of The Reluctant Dragon and Wind in the Willows, and he was the Chorus Master of the well-received production of The Barber of Seville. He was also the Associate Conductor of the SLO Children’s Chorus when it was first formed. Adrian has also performed as a singer with the company on several occasions, including Leonard Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti in 2006.
